N.E.X.U.S. – AETHER Protocol: Where do we stand after two months of development work?

Dear N.E.X.U.S. community,

Today, I would like to give you an open and honest insight into where we stand with the development of our AETHER economic and monetary system.

We have now been working intensively for around two months on the technical implementation and simulation with millions of calculations… In doing so, we have carried out an enormous amount of development work, performed countless tests, and also overcome a number of difficulties.

But I also know that many of you are slowly becoming impatient and asking yourselves: When will AETHER finally be finished?

I ask myself this very question. That is why I have now taken comprehensive stock and want to explain to you what we have achieved, what is still missing, and how I plan to proceed.

1. What have we achieved so far?

First, the good news: AETHER already works in essential parts.

We have now successfully simulated a complete first economic epoch – using both monetary models that we are comparing with each other.

In the process, for each monetary model:

  • 100 economic transactions were fully processed.
  • 50 regular invoices and 50 pre-financed community orders were processed.
  • Orders, deliveries, verifications, and payments were actually played through.
  • Around 6,285 VITA in community revenue was generated.
  • Around 629 VITA was allocated to the Gaia area.
  • Around 5,657 VITA was provided for the basic income fund.
  • All money movements were independently recalculated and verified.

All of this takes place within an artificially generated test economy. So this is not yet about real economic activities with real people.

But it shows that our economic cycle can work technically.

We have also developed extensive protection mechanisms, testing procedures, and functions for money supply control.

2. What already works – and what is still missing?

Here is a simple overview:

Already largely developed:

✅ The basic architecture of the AETHER system

✅ The fundamental economic and monetary policy rules

✅ The technical monetary accounting

✅ Orders, payments, and community treasury

✅ The first fully simulated economic epoch

✅ Essential fundamentals of money supply control

✅ Numerous technical protection and verification mechanisms

Not yet fully completed:

🔧 The monthly basic income over an extended economic course

🔧 The simulation over many months and years

🔧 Testing under money shortages, economic crises, and supply disruptions

🔧 The full integration of all protection mechanisms

🔧 The extensive comparative tests between the various monetary model settings

🔧 The final economic validation

So our technical development stage is clearly advanced. However, AETHER v1.0 is not yet fully validated and not yet ready for practical deployment.

3. Why is it taking so long?

AETHER is not simply a new digital currency.

We are developing an economic system that is intended to combine value creation, supply, community funds, a regular basic income, money supply control, and democratically controlled decisions, among other things.

And we do not just want to claim that it works. We want to prove it.

To do that, we also need to find out what happens when people cannot pay, businesses fail, resources become scarce, or economic imbalances arise.

Our full testing plan comprises hundreds of thousands of individual simulation runs with a great many economic transactions.

In the process, we also realized that, in our technical development, we sometimes got too lost in individual checks and ever-new detailed improvements.

While this provided important insights, it kept postponing the actual completion.

I now want to deliberately counteract this.

4. How do we proceed from here?

I have decided to align the next development steps more strongly towards concrete, presentable results.

My goal for the coming 14 days is a first truly meaningful AETHER demonstrator.

To this end, we are focusing on three tasks:

Step 1 – The Basic Income

We connect the complete monthly income cycle to the already functioning test economy. We want to see how the basic income is actually funded, calculated, and paid out.

Step 2 – A longer economic period with a stress test

We want to show how AETHER behaves over several months and what happens during economic difficulties.

Step 3 – An understandable results report

I want to be able to show you, based on concrete results, how money is created and circulates, how community funds are used, how the basic income works, and how the system responds to problems.

The 14 days are a development goal, not a promise that the full AETHER v1.0 validation will be completed by then.

If it turns out that we need more time for this, I will communicate that openly.

5. When will AETHER truly be finished?

Here too, I do not want to raise false expectations.

The first complete economic epoch: achieved.

A multi-month demonstrator with basic income: our next concrete goal.

A fully integrated and validated B0 simulator: still considerable work, the remaining duration of which we need to determine more precisely.

Practical AETHER deployment: only after further economic, technical, legal, and community review.

It would be irresponsible to name a fixed date for the complete rollout today.

I consider a further development time of weeks to months to be possible. The decisive factor will be how quickly we can reliably bring together the missing functions and carry out the necessary tests.

6. What does this mean for N.E.X.U.S. overall?

One thing is particularly important to me:

N.E.X.U.S. does not consist only of AETHER.

While we work on the economic system, we are simultaneously developing our communities, our participation platform, the OneApp, and the organizational foundations.

So we do not have to wait until AETHER is completely finished to continue building N.E.X.U.S.

On the contrary: The communities we build today will later also form the foundation for AETHER to be tested in practice at all.

7. My personal conclusion

I remain convinced that with AETHER, we are developing something very valuable.

The last two months were exhausting and cost us more time and development effort than I had originally expected.

But we are no longer just looking at an idea on paper.

We now have a technically functioning first economic cycle.

What we need now is proof that this cycle also functions reliably over a longer period of time, with basic income and under difficult economic conditions.

To achieve this, I will now focus our development work more consistently on the truly necessary results.

I do not want us to spend more months producing ever-new individual checks without coming decisively closer to our actual goal.

And I also do not want to constantly tell you how many technical tests were passed. I want to be able to show you what AETHER actually achieves.

That is precisely where my focus lies now.

Many thanks to everyone who accompanies this project with patience, trust, ideas, and commitment.

We are building something here that goes far beyond an ordinary software project. But that is precisely why we must, step by step, actually make it work.

Our goal remains unchanged: an economy that serves people and life.

Yours, Josh
