📊 N.E.X.U.S. – WORK REPORT

Weekly Overview October 5 – October 11, 2026

Dear all,

once again, an incredible amount has moved forward at N.E.X.U.S. this week. Our website has been updated, the community further developed, new opportunities for collaboration created, and significant progress made on our projects.

For everyone who hasn't been with us for long: With N.E.X.U.S., we want to jointly create the foundations for a world more worth living in. A world where people determine more for themselves again, are there for one another, and take responsibility.

To this end, we are developing new pathways in the areas of community, economy, education, health, and communication. And much of this is no longer just an idea, but is already being put into practice.

Here are the key developments, this time summarized by topic.

🌍 1. Website, Public Relations, and Visibility

Our public website nexus-terminal.org has been fundamentally redesigned. It is now brighter, friendlier, and significantly clearer.

Getting started has been made easier, especially for new visitors. People can find out more quickly what N.E.X.U.S. stands for, which communities are already emerging, and how to get involved.

The Blueprint and important documents are also easier to access. Our map showing the first N.E.X.U.S. communities can now also be displayed on the website.

Our communication continues to follow a simple principle:

FEEL → UNDERSTAND → BUILD → DEEPEN

We first want to show people what kind of world we want to shape together. Those who wish to know more can subsequently explore the background, the Blueprint, and our technical developments.

All new features are available in German, English, and Spanish and have been tested for desktop and mobile devices.

Our public relations work has also been further improved. There are new templates for initial press outreach, social media comments, and planned informational materials.

This makes it easier for members to raise awareness of N.E.X.U.S. without overwhelming others with advertising.

In addition, the management of our media contacts has been improved.

Our message remains:

We don't just want to talk about what is going wrong in our society. In parallel, we want to build something new that actually works in everyday life.

đź’¶ 2. Funding, Supporting Partnerships, and Legal Foundations

An important step this week is our new N.E.X.U.S. Development Fund.

On our website, we now explain what has already been created, what next steps are planned, and what we need financial support for.

In addition to Ko-fi, you can now also support N.E.X.U.S. via Stripe, bank transfer, and SEPA direct debit.

Contributions of 5, 10, 20, or 50 euros per month are possible, as well as a one-time contribution of any amount.

Our first funding goal is 3,500 euros per month. With this, we want to secure technical operations and continually drive development forward.

The numbers show why this is necessary: Our ongoing costs for servers, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence are currently around 500 euros per month. In September, this was offset by only around 110 euros in income.

So far, a large part of the work and development continues to be borne privately. In the long term, we need a broader foundation.

We have also created a funding offer with four different support tiers for companies, foundations, and organizations.

Our first partnership with the Utopie-Akademie is now visible on the website.

As a matter of principle:

At N.E.X.U.S., financial support must never buy special voting rights or influence over our decisions.

At the same time, we continue to explore how we can manage donations and project funds in a legally secure manner without having to immediately establish our own large organization.

To this end, we are in contact with Social Change Nest and WE AID. WE AID has already invited us to a personal conversation and provided informational material.

A definitive solution, especially for donation receipts, has not yet been agreed upon.

🏠 3. Our Community – Collaboration, Tasks, and Support

For me, this is one of the most important areas this week.

We now have around 90 people on our own community platform. With this growth, however, new challenges have emerged.

We had many ideas, tasks, and projects, but our previous lists and wiki pages were becoming increasingly cluttered.

Therefore, there is now a new project management system in all Circles.

Tasks go through four simple steps:

Open → In Progress → Up for Voting → Done

Everyone can see which tasks are pending, who is responsible, who wants to help, and when something is scheduled to be finished.

Anyone who wants to take on a task simply clicks on “I’ll take this on”.

Afterwards, the result can be reviewed together. Options available for this are “Looks good” or “I have a change”.

Under “My Tasks”, each member can see their accepted activities. Automatic reminders are sent for open tasks.

The old task lists were backed up beforehand and disabled. Our 2027 calendar project has already been fully transferred to the new management system.

This finally makes it easier to turn ideas into concrete tasks and distribute responsibility.

Our community assistant Nova has also been further developed.

Nova helps with onboarding, answers questions, and now also explains project management and our knowledge collections.

Another new addition is a dedicated “Help & Support” area. Members can ask questions or report issues there—even if they are having trouble logging in.

Nova helps directly at first. If personal assistance is needed, the request is forwarded to the support team. Our goal is a response within 24 hours.

In addition, we improved platform usability:

  • Members now stay logged in for up to 30 days.
  • Typography, dark mode, and mobile view have been improved.
  • Video messages work more reliably.
  • Online meetings can now be displayed larger and in full screen.
  • Language switching has been made clearer.
  • Documents from the Circles are additionally backed up in Nextcloud.

Our goal is a community where everyone can find their way around and enjoys collaborating with others—even without deep technical knowledge.

🗺️ 4. Communities, New Members, and Our Togetherness

N.E.X.U.S. is also continuing to develop outside the digital world.

Our community map shows where people have already come together or want to build something together.

There are new developments, for example, in:

WĂĽrzburg: Alexander and Bobby have founded a community.

DĂĽsseldorf: Herbert and Karin are building a community.

Santa Cruz on Tenerife: Tania is also working on a new community.

Further regional contacts are emerging. A simple guide is being prepared for people who want to start a community themselves.

Because one thing is particularly important to us:

N.E.X.U.S. shouldn't just take place on the internet. It should come alive where people live, work, and meet each other.

New people with very diverse backgrounds have also joined us again.

I find it particularly encouraging that more and more people with expertise in education, medicine, technology, and other fields are finding their way to us.

At the same time, there were interesting and sometimes controversial discussions about political openness, diversity of opinion, as well as animal and nature conservation.

For me, such conversations are part of the process.

We don't have to agree on every issue. What matters is that we treat each other with respect and honor our shared core values.

N.E.X.U.S. should connect people rather than create new divides between them.

🔓 5. OneApp, Independent Communication, and Our Servers

We have also made progress regarding our technical independence.

The N.E.X.U.S. OneApp and our custom-developed community modules have now been made publicly available on GitHub.

This is known as open source.

This allows other people to view the code, review it, and collaborate under the respective license terms.

Our private data and server settings naturally remain protected.

The descriptions were published in German and English. Initial feedback from the HumHub developer community has already been taken into account.

For the upcoming HumHub update to version 1.19, we have prepared a checklist so that our extensions continue to function reliably afterward.

Progress is also being made on the independent communication network in Tenerife.

The second Mesh repeater has been successfully put into operation. Connections without direct line of sight now also work.

Next, the network is set to be expanded toward Los Silos and Buenavista.

In parallel, we are working on connecting the Reticulum network with our OneApp.

The idea behind it is simple: In the future, people should be able to exchange messages even when the regular internet or cellular network is unavailable.

Tenerife serves as our first practical testing ground for this.

Our server infrastructure has also been further improved.

Recent checks were successful. We were able to reduce data disk utilization from 92 to around 76 percent.

Software extensions are now deployed from a unified source, with automated backups and subsequent testing.

Our existing backups are retained for seven days. An additional off-site backup is planned. For this, we are looking into a Hetzner Storage Box, among other options.

This work is barely noticeable in day-to-day community life. However, it is essential for ensuring that our shared infrastructure functions reliably in the long term.

⚙️ 6. Our Conceptual Development – Economy, Education, and Health

Work also continued on the actual future models of N.E.X.U.S.

AETHER – our economic model

For everyone who is new:

AETHER is the economic and distribution model we are developing for N.E.X.U.S.

It addresses how basic needs could be secured, services exchanged, a basic income enabled, and economic imbalances limited.

Before we deploy such ideas in reality, we test them as thoroughly as possible.

To do this, we developed a simulator with which we run through different economic conditions and crisis scenarios.

This week, the extensive E3 simulation run was successfully completed. Previously, we were able to narrow down 90 examined variants to 24 particularly interesting options.

Now the results are being evaluated and checked for vulnerabilities.

The monthly basic income in VITA provided for in the Blueprint also remains an integral component of the model.

In addition, there was an interesting exchange about other economic models such as Gradido and Abundomie.

Our guiding principle:

We don't want to prove that AETHER is perfect, but rather find potential flaws and learn from them.

Universitas Humana – our education model

In Circle 8, the first joint online working meeting took place.

This is not simply about changing schools or teaching.

We are addressing the question:

What does a human being need to develop freely, think independently, and unfold their potential?

This week, the focus was particularly on digital self-determination, the conscious use of artificial intelligence, low-stimulus learning environments, and personal development without constant pressure for performance and grades.

The working meetings are now documented in a dedicated area. The first meeting minutes from October 6 have already been posted.

A key thought here:

Technology and AI should support people in learning, but not replace their own thinking.

Health – a major knowledge collection is emerging

On the initiative of Bobby Langer, we have technically integrated an extensive collection of around 580 revised and source-referenced articles on naturopathy and prevention.

The whole setup works similarly to Wikipedia.

You can search by topic, read about connections, and also enter simple terms like “stomach ache” or “I can’t fall asleep.”

The articles are interlinked, changes remain traceable, and members can submit suggestions for improvement.

This development has also given rise to a new tool:

Our knowledge collections.

In the future, other Circles will also be able to build their own reference works with this, for example on education, agriculture, or technology.

The technical implementation is complete. General release of the health knowledge base is still pending.

Especially with health topics, it is important to us to review information carefully. Such collections are intended to inform and support, but not replace medical examination or treatment.

đź“… 7. New Ways to Experience N.E.X.U.S.

Progress was also made on our calendar project “The World We Are Building”.

Planning for the 2027 calendar is now largely complete.

Each of the twelve months addresses an area of life in N.E.X.U.S.

In doing so, we want to combine two things:

One page shows what our vision could feel like. The other explains the ideas and solutions behind it.

Bärbel and I are coordinating the project together.

The twelve monthly drafts have already been posted in the new project management system and can be reviewed and refined there together.

Bärbel's feedback so far has been incorporated. Further comments can be submitted until October 18.

The calendar is planned to be published in German, English, and Spanish and should ideally be available before Christmas.

Another idea has also sparked a lot of interest: N.E.X.U.S. as a game.

Why shouldn't people be able to experience our ideas playfully as well?

A board game would be conceivable at first, and perhaps a digital game later on.

Players could experiment together with how provisioning, collaboration, decision-making, and handling crises work.

What happens when resources become scarce? How does mutual aid transform a community? What consequences do our decisions have?

Especially for children, families, and people who do not yet know our Blueprint, this could be a wonderful entry point.

It is still an idea, but one that I would love to pursue further.

🔍 WHAT I TAKE AWAY FROM THIS WEEK

Looking back on this week, I am impressed by how much we have built up by now.

Our website is becoming clearer, the community is developing into a true workspace, and we are creating new avenues for funding.

Our software is becoming public, the independent communication network is growing, and our ideas for the economy, education, and health are becoming increasingly concrete.

But something else is particularly important to me: We are finally beginning to create the prerequisites for more people to take on responsibility themselves.

With the new project management, everyone can see where help is needed. Nova assists with getting started, the knowledge collections make information more accessible, and our communities bring people together locally as well.

Because one thing has become clear by now:

N.E.X.U.S. has grown too large to be carried permanently by just a few people.

We don't just need ideas and technology. We need people who contribute their experience, skills, and a little of their time.

And to do that, no one needs to know the entire Blueprint or be an expert.

You can also start with a small task.

💛 NOW IT’S UP TO ALL OF US – GET INVOLVED!

You can see how much has been created at N.E.X.U.S. by now.

Yet all of this only becomes truly valuable when we seize these opportunities together and fill them with life.

That’s why today I have a very concrete request for you:

👉 Visit our community:
https://community.nexus-terminal.org

👉 Look through the various Circles and find a topic that interests you.

👉 Open the “Projects” section there. Here you will find tasks where support is needed.

👉 When you spot something suitable, simply click on “I’ll take this on”.

It doesn't have to be anything big.

Maybe you only have an hour a week. Maybe you can proofread a text, organize something, pass on your knowledge, establish contacts, or help other people.

Even small contributions can achieve a lot together.

And if you don't yet know where to start, just ask Nova or join our welcome call on Sundays at 6:00 PM.

We will gladly help you find something that suits you.

I really want to encourage you:

Don't wait for N.E.X.U.S. to be finished someday. It comes into being through what we do together today.

My request for this week: Find a small task and take the first step—from reading along to co-creating.

Because we don't just need people who wish for a different world.

We need people who start building it together.

Thank you to everyone who is already walking this path with us. ❤️

Josh
